Everything that I do is about educating, whether it’s teaching or consulting. We look at the entire world of wine – the business end, the viniculture; viticulture and how everything works – not only how it tastes or smells.

FitaPreta
Carta Da Fitapreta
Alentejo, Portugal

ABOUT THE WINE:

• GRAPES: 50% Aragonez (Tempranillo), 30% Touriga Nacional, 20% Alicante Bouschet
Floral and fruit aromatics of violets and black raspberries on the nose, with lilting notes of toast and spice. On the
palate, lush and ripe, with abundant fresh black currant berries and smoked brambleberry.
• Grape varieties hand harvested and vinified separately in stainless steel with native yeasts.Aged an additional 10 months; in 50% stainless steel and used French Oak.
• Pairs with Grilled red meats, lamb kebabs, lentil dishes, grilled mushrooms and pork tenderloin

ABOUT THE WINERY:

• Partnership between a young Alentejano winemaker; Antonio Macanita and transplanted viticulturist, David
Booth.
• Sustainably farmed small plots with low intervention in the cellar
• Philosophy of ‘palpite’ the Portuguese word for intuition. Knowing to allow the vine and grapes to speak for
themselves and represent the terroir from which they came.
